The new radiator is a high-quality product at an affordable price

The stylish FlatLine is the latest addition to the Belgian company VASCO's product range

Brussels, 24th February 2011

VASCO, the Belgian radiator company, presented an all-new, cutting-edge technological product at the Batibouw on the 24th of February. The 'FlatLine' is a radiator without visible welds and a flat water-conducting front plate, in other words, with water channels installed directly within the flat front plate. The FlatLine not only combines this cutting-edge technology with high interior aesthetics standards, but is also economical to buy and use. It is economical to buy since a smaller radiator delivers a higher heat output, and it is also economical in terms of energy consumption, since the FlatLine is especially suitable for connection to low-temperature heating systems. CEO Jan Nuyts: "The recent crisis shows that although the consumer is spending less, he remains unwilling to compromise on comfort. With the FlatLine, we make advanced technology accessible to all budgets, and we renew our intense focus on: innovating to increase comfort at home."

Apart from being a radiator with high-quality finish, the FlatLine is also a cutting-edge technological product. CEO Jan Nuyts explains: "The water channels of the radiator are fitted directly on the inside of the front plate. This ensures direct heat radiation. For consumers, this means a double financial payback: First, a more compact and cheaper radiator fully meets their needs. Secondly, the FlatLine functions optimally in low temperature heating systems, thereby lowering energy costs."

With the FlatLine, VASCO reaffirms its reputation for innovation. The FlatLine differs from traditional flat panel radiators not only in terms of technology, but also in terms of appearance. "That was the first thing that struck me" says Filip Deslee, interior designer and consultant in the VT4 program 'House Hunting'. "This is a radiator with a sleek and minimalist design, without welds, and with a beautiful, fine-textured matt finish. This opens up new perspectives, particularly taking into account the low price tag."

The FlatLine also offers several advantages for the installer. The unique central connection minimises the measurement, breaking and cutting work required to install the unit, and therefore the FlatLine can be installed with great speed and precision.

And thus VASCO continues to rejuvenate the radiator market. This follows the same pattern as VASCO's introduction of the aluminium radiator range a few years ago. The innovative profiles from which the aluminium radiators are made, were developed in collaboration with the University of Stuttgart. VASCO's introduction of these profiles represented a totally new heating concept. Amongst the range of aluminium radiators, the Bryce radiator is already a classic.

"Jos Vaessen founded VASCO in 1975 with the conviction of laying down the standard in the heating world with startling and refreshing new designs. We have remained true to this mission to this day. Our designers and engineers are constantly looking for solutions to make everyday domestic life easier. The FlatLine has again enabled us to succeed in this objective" concludes Jan Nuyts.
